Denomination: Metropolitan Community Church
Wasatch MCC is a new spiritual community in Salt Lake City. Though our local congregation is new, MCC has been around for a while! Founded in 1968 by the Rev. Troy Perry, MCC has grown from 12 people in a Los Angeles living room to more than 200 worshiping bodies around the world.
While MCC was founded with a special outreach to the LGBT community, our message is universal. All people, all families are welcome in MCC. As our message of love and grace has spread, people from all walks of life have discovered that MCC gives them a place where they can discover their own spiritual path amid positive, progressive people.
MCC is, and has been since our beginning, at the forefront of justice issues/movements. The documentary "Call Me Troy" tells our story through the biography of our founder, Troy Perry. From 1968 through marriage equality in the 2010s, this remarkable film will surprise and inspire you!
