Denomination: Catholic
St. Rita of Cascia’s Catholic Church Parish, nestled along the banks of the Mississippi River in Harahan, Louisiana, is, as it has been since its inception in 1950, a community, bonded by faith and love of God and one another. It is through the hard work of our Pastor, Fr. John Arnone, the Parochial Vicar, Fr. Kyle Sanders, the parish and school staff, and the parishioners that we continue to grow and carry out the mission of Jesus Christ as a Church community.
In gathering as a community of believers each Sunday, and for many other celebrations, we continue the traditions of over fifty years of Eucharistic worship in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. We also continue the dedication of our founding pastor, Msgr. Roy Champagne, and former pastors Rev. Wilfred Meridier, Msgr. Frank Giroir and Fr. Herbert Kiff, through the Christian formation of our children, teaching them to grow and live in the faith. We are always seeking to serve the Lord by reaching out to the members of our community through our various ministries.
St. Rita Parish has been and continues to be truly blessed by God through the parish’s growth in its expression of love, faith, and thanksgiving to God. We are challenged as members of this most fruitful parish to continue to support and serve one another, to live the gospel message, and to serve the common good as witnesses of Jesus Christ.
