St. Michael's was established as a mission a little over 50 years ago, in order to serve as a witness of the love of Jesus Christ by serving as a place of worship and outreach for the people in Box Elder County and surrounding areas. Though the congregation is small, there are numerous ministries and outreach programs connected to St. Michael's. St. Micheal's is a founder of important community programs such as, the Box Elder Community Food Pantry, the New Hope Crisis Center, and The Community Soup Kitchen. Parish members continue to play important roles in these ministries. These programs serve hundreds of individuals and families each month, providing food for the needy, safety to vicitms of domestic violence, and meals to the hungry and lonely.
