Denomination: Church of England
St Martin's Church has been part of the community for a very long time. Worle in itself has existed since before the 'Doomsday Book' was completed in 1086 and St. Martin's Church dates back as far as the 12th century. St. Martin himself, the patron saint of Worle, was renowned for his self-denial and humility.
St. Martin's sees itself as a family church serving the community of Worle, celebrating life together during all its seasons through our shared faith in God. We are an open and friendly Anglican church seeking to be relevant to all people of different ages and backgrounds.
We assemble all together for our weekly Sunday services or services during the week, smaller groups for study and prayer, church concerts or Little Martins for our youngsters. We like to stay after the regular services for a chat and also have social evenings with food or music.
Besides the regular services, St. Martin's Church is also very popular for Baptisms (Christenings) and also Wedding celebrations. Funerals are often held in the church.
Please feel free to visit us for a service or during one of our Church Open Afternoons. We look forward to welcoming you.
