Denomination: Anglican Church
We are a lively, diverse and inclusive community, seeking to journey together in faith and to live out that faith in the world around us.
The church is rooted in the Anglo-Catholic tradition but reflects the diversity of its members by drawing from different traditions and styles of worship.
Our church continues to grow and develop. We feel there is something special about our community, as witnessed by these comments from church members:
There is an authentic bond within the church, a sense of community. It is open to everyone. A very positive factor is the number of people that came up and talked to me the first time I went. I was invited to go round to the hall for coffee, and other people then came up and talked.
There’s a lot of diversity in the congregation, which is its great strength – people from different church traditions, e.g. Methodists, Roman Catholic, house churches - who bring the strengths of their various traditions and come to St James’ for their own reasons. It makes the place more welcoming and tolerant.
