St. Gertrude's Parish is located between the two east-west main roads of Oshawa, King Street East and Bond Street East in the eastern part of Oshawa just west of Townline Road which separates Oshawa and Clarington.
The parish of St. Gertrude was established by His Eminence, James Cardinal McQuigan on May 5, 1955, the feast of St. Pius V.
The Parish is home to four Catholic Elementary schools and two Catholic Secondary schools.
Our founding pastor was Fr. Francis Mahoney. Our current pastor is Fr. Paul Magyar. Fr. Jean Marie Beaublanc, the Durham Region Hospital Chaplain is in residence at the Parish.
The Parish has a very active youth group and many active and vibrant ministries.
