Denomination: Roman Catholic

Welcome to our faith community that is located at the southern end of the Big Horn Basin at the north entrance to the Wind River Canyon. Thermopolis prides itself in having the world's largest mineral hot springs in the State Park at the east end of town. Visitors from around the country and from many foreign countries come to Thermopolis to soak in the 'healing' waters that are surrounded by much natural beauty. We at St. Francis Church want to be a welcoming community as we provide opportunities for healing of the whole person.

When you visit Thermopolis, feel free to join us at one of our Sunday Masses, and then join us for Fellowship and Refreshments in the Fellowship Hall after the Sunday 9:00 a.m. Mass. You are welcome to join us at our weekday morning Mass in the St. Nicholas Chapel. St. Francis Church is located at 801 Arapahoe, Thermopolis.

May the Lord bless you and your loved ones as you travel along life's journey into the Next Life.

Parish Mission Statement

Saint Francis Catholic Church of Thermopolis is a rural community that covers all of Hot Springs County in the Cheyenne Diocese. The mixture of various cultures and the mountainous terrain in this area add a rich dimension to our parish life. We are a stewardship parish and our sacramental life is centered on the Name, Word, Power, and Ministry of Jesus Christ and is guided by the Holy Spirit as we seek to do God's will. In a spirit of Christian love, we reach out with western hospitality as we bring the Healing Presence of the Lord Jesus to all we meet.

Parish Vision Statement

*To recognize that all human beings have been made in the image and likeness of God which gives them human dignity, and to see Christ in all we meet.

*To help all parishioners discover their God-given gifts and talents, and to offer opportunities for them to develop and to use their gifts and talents in service to our parish, and to the larger community.

*To foster a respect and reverence for all of God's creation, and to help our parishioners discover how God speaks to people through nature, and how the mountainous terrain influences the spirituality of the local people.

*To provide opportunities for religious education to all members of our parish from the very young to the eldest parishioners.

*To foster an attitude of gratitude to God for his many blessings, which calls us to give back to God what belongs to Him.

*To encourage our parishioners to be generous in giving of their treasure so that our parish can be financially stable in order to meet all our temporal needs, and to offer assistance to the larger Christian community.

*To use the power of forgiveness to facilitate reconciliation as a means to confront violence in all its forms.
