St Chad welcomes Christians and those who seek to understand Christianity in the Sunderland area. Our aim is to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-enhancing Christian journey.
St Chad at Sunderland, Tyne and Wear is a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God. Our emphasis is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and his followers.
The vision of St Chad is to make an impact for God, here in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.

Sunday
Holy Eucharist (said)
A quiet early celebration of the Eucharist each Sunday.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ½ hour
Parish Eucharist (sung)
Our main Sunday celebration, at which all ages from babies up are welcome and fully included in the worship. We deliberately don't have a creche or Sunday school, so that all can be involved!
Every Sunday at 9:30 AM for 1 hour
Sunday evening worship
This is a quiet evening act of worship to end the day. Usually it's said evening prayer, sometimes the Service of Light or other special services in particular seasons.
Every Sunday at 6:30 PM for ½ hour
Monday
Holy Eucharist
One of our quiet weekday celebrations of the Eucharist.
Every second third fourth and fifth Monday at 9:30 AM for ½ hour
Holy Eucharist at Oakfield Court, East Herrington
On the first Monday of the month, the Eucharist is not at St Chad's, but at Oakfield Court (Anchor Housing) Silksworth Rd at 10am. All are welcome, not only residents.
Every first Monday at 10:00 AM for ½ hour
Wednesday
Holy Eucharist
Oner of our quiet weekday celebrations of the Eucharist. The church is open all Wednesday morning (9.00am to 12.00am) to drop in for coffe or a time of quiet or prayer.
Every Wednesday at 9:30 AM for ½ hour
Thursday
Holy Eucharist: Healing Service
On the last Thursday of each month the Eucharist includes the laying-on of hands for healing. All are welcome, seeking healing for ourselves or for others.
Every last Thursday at 7:00 PM for ½ hour
Holy Eucharist
One of our quiet weekday Eucharists. On the last Thursday of the month it includes the laying-on of hands for healing.
Evening Prayer is also said before this service at 6.30pm.
Every Thursday at 7:00 PM
Friday
Holy Eucharist
One of our quiet weekday Eucharists. This early Friday one is a little more informal, and with fewer words and more silence.
Morning Prayer is also said before this service at 7.30am.
Every Friday at 8:00 AM for 20 minutes
Holy Eucharist at Emblehope House, Farringdon
On the last Friday of the month, in addition to the Eucharist at St Chad's, there is a 10.00 Eucharist at Emblehope House (Cheviot Housing) Allendale Rd, Farringdon. All welcome, not only residents.
Every last Friday at 10:00 AM for ½ hour
Holy Eucharist at Amalfi Tower, Lakeside
A Eucharist on the first Friday of each month in the community room at Amalfi Tower, Lakeside. All welcome.
Every first Friday at 10:00 AM for ½ hour
