We give glory to God as we see the face of Christ in our neighbours and seek opportunities to fulfill our duties to others, illuminating the love of God through the presence of a caring community.”
St. Barnabas Anglican Church is located in an area of Calgary which is known as Hillhurst. The church is aligned north/south on the west side of 12th Street NW. There are lawn areas at the front with paved walkways and on the east side of the church is a Memorial Garden. The church is an A-frame design with an open beamed ceiling.
Inside you will find seven stained glass windows and a wood shingled roof. There is a balcony above the Narthex with white brick and oak woodwork around the altar. The west side of the church is adjoined by St. Barnabas' chapel. St. Barnabas also houses a robing rooms, a library, the Sacristy and basement. Attached to the church and chapel is a brick and sandstone church tower housing our library. The Parish Hall is connected to the church tower and the church by a link hallway. Our Parish Hall is a two-storey building and the upper floor consists of offices, mechanical rooms and a main hall with access to the link hall and washrooms. The lower hall consists of a large function room used for parish associated functions and fellowship, with an adjoining kitchen, which has undergone major renovations, and a mechanical room.
