Denomination: Episcopal Church
St. Andrews Church in Rural Hays. It is surrounded by open Prairie and was built in 1934 with a total cost of $1,000.00. Bishop Mize consecrated the building in January of 1935. Prior to building of the current church building, they met in a one-room country schoolhouse, near Hays, known as "Silverdale."
We are a small congregation trying to put Jesus Christ at the center of our lives. We use the liturgy of the Episcopal Church--usually the one called "Rite One"--to join together in worshipping the Lord of all Creation, though we use the liturgy to help us focus, not to force us. We are an inclusive group, and all who wish to try worshipping the Lord are welcome to join us.
