Denomination: Methodist Church
Sheldon Road Methodist Church was established in 1901
The Church has grown considerably over the years with the second 'school room' built in 1968 and an extension to the church in 1989.
The Church felt that another re-development was necessary for the 21st Century so THE BEACON PROJECT was born and our new building was completed in January 2011.
Our new facility provides not only a great space in the church with modern technology, but our Beacon Centre which has facilities for a vast array of groups - both church and non-church as well as hosting Birthday Parties, meetings and training courses.
We also have a lovely Cafe, which supplies Fairtrade tea and coffee and cakes at very reasonable prices - pop in for some refreshment when you see the board outside!
We aim to be a welcoming and family friendly church - we're a really mixed group! We seek to know & follow Jesus every day in the power of His Holy Spirit.
Vision Statement
We believe that we are called to worship God; to love and serve Him and each other and with that love to reach out to our community with a message of Christ.
We have a vision of being a warm, welcoming, loving, serving community which attracts people to Christ and to worship by its very existence and by the Christian love shared among its people and their communities.
We have a vision of being a “Seven Days A Week” Church providing space, time, Christian contact and facilities for our community to meet together and with us to become the people of God intended us to be.
