Denomination: Mennonite Church
Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church (SAMC) was founded in 1949 as a ministry for primarily German speaking immigrants of Anabaptist Mennonite faith. We have worshipped at our current location at Sargent and Garfield in Winnipeg’s West End since 1960. Over the years SAMC has gone through many changes, including transitioning to using English in worship and community life. SAMC has also continued to grow in diversity as we experience and express our faith in a variety of ways. Despite many changes, the important values of community, worship and learning to follow Jesus Christ have always been integral to us. We invite you to broaden our history by joining us in worship and community.
Our Vision and Beliefs
SAMC is a community of people who strive to worship God, follow Christ, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit. We understand and live our Christian faith from an Anabaptist perspective. The Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective is a valuable summary of our beliefs and convictions.
