The story of Redeemer Church is just beginning, but the journey began a few years ago when our Pearland Campus, First United Methodist of Pearland, began to discern whether or not God might be leading the church to do something new in the West Pearland/Manvel area. After much prayer and debate, and with the closure of Grace United Methodist Church in Manvel, the congregation voted overwhelmingly to step out in faith and seize the opportunity to start a new part of the church in Manvel. With that decision made, the Rev. David Goran (a former misisonary to Ukraine) was sent to lead the effort. After a vision for the communtiy was formed, financial resources were mobilized, a launch team was built, and new people started to connect and form what is now the beginning of Redeemer Church.
Redeemer Church is a campus of First United Methodist Church of Pearland and was made possible by the outward, missional heart of the people at our Pearland Campus. We are proud to be one church in two locations. While each part of our community has its own lead pastor, location, distinct identity, and staff, we are one team, operating cooperatively, and are united in the mission of connecting all people to the greater life in Christ.
