Denomination: United Church of Canada
Each Sunday morning, worship begins at 9:30 am at the Princetown Church, immediately followed by worship at Southwest River beginning at 11:00 am. The churches of the Margate Pastoral Charge work well together, joining under one roof for special celebrations and worship. This is the case for celebrations such as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, as well as when there are guest speakers. The charge has traditionally held two Christmas Eve services, a family service at 6:30 pm and a communion service at 8:30 pm. A Grad Service is held each year for graduates from our charge. The CGIT Vesper Service is always meaningful and is a special celebration that our charge is proud to be involved with. The Margate Pastoral Charge also takes part in the Kensington Harvest Festival Ecumenical Service each August, where all denominations come together to worship under one roof.
Both churches within the Margate Pastoral Charge have the same music director who has strong leadership skills helping to make the music superior. Both choirs have excellent four part harmonies and, more importantly, enjoy sharing their talents during worship. Throughout the year our organist arranges "song services", involving the choirs and others willing to share their musical talents such as soloist, pianists and the “Youth Band”. These services are always very popular with all age groups within the two churches. Princetown has approximately 14 choir members and Southwest River has approximately 15 choir members.
