Denomination: Disciples of Christ
Our church has been serving this community since 1952. We are a part of the national denomination known as CHRISTIAN CHURCH (DISCIPLES OF CHRIST). The Church (DOC) is renowned for its sense of mission, its emphasis on higher education for both laity and clergy, its ecumenical concern, and its broad-based continuing interpretation through study and enlightenment.
Communion, The Lord's Supper, is our central act of worship and observed every Sunday. All who love the Lord are welcome at our table.
The Chalice with its St. Andrew's Cross is symbolic of our Scottish/Irish Heritage.
Our church is:
RELATIONAL - Building a relationship with God through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Building friendships with which to share the joys of life.
CONGREGATIONAL - Democratically elected men and women lay people as leaders of the church. Inviting into our membership all who follow Jesus' call to, "Love God with all your heart, and your neighbor as yourself"
INSPIRATIONAL - Our Pastors deliver messages each week that appeal to the mind and the soul inspiring us to always search for the truth of the Lord in our spiritual and personal journey.
