Denomination: Evangelical Lutheran
Oakridge Lutheran Church developed when two congregations - one Icelandic, the other German - with a long history of mutual support merged to form one congregation in 1989. We are an urban multi-cultural congregation which contiunes to draw its membership from German, Icelandic, and more recent Chinese waves of immigration. Our neighborhood has been designated for high density re-development, and we are currently exploring options for a mixed use re-development of our site. We are easily accessible by car or public transit, and are conveniently located across the street from the new Canada Line Oakridge Skytrain station. We have regular Sunday English Worship services and occasional German worship services. And host a mid-week Mandarin Bible Study and Fellowship group, an outreach ministry called "Praise Dance", We also have two very active Women's auxiliary both in English and Chinese.
