Denomination: Church of Christ
The Northeast Philadelphia Church of Christ is a diverse, friendly, and loving congregation where everyone is welcome. We are a body of Christian people seeking to follow the pattern of New Testament Christianity. We strive to be the same church that is identified in the New Testament. Our aim is to restore its doctrine, its practice, its lifestyle, and its zeal.
We are simply Christians who strive to be a church that belongs to Jesus Christ—the same church that you read about in the New Testament (Matthew 16:18; Romans 16:16). If you are interested in learning more about this kind of church, we invite you to come and take advantage of our efforts to draw closer to God. You are more than welcome at all of our services.
The congregation at the Northeast Philadelphia Church of Christ is dedicated to expanding the cause of Christ. Our love for God and for each other strengthens us daily and inspires us to reach out to all.
What We Believe
Our Headquarters is in Heaven and not here on earth. We have no creed but the Bible. Our leader is Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. Our Father is the Almighty God. Our Hope is Eternal Life. Since our Headquarters is in Heaven and the Bible Teaches that each Congregation is Autonomous, this is not the Internet Headquarters for the Church of Christ, but only Christians doing their best to get the WORD out.
Jesus Christ is the one and only sacrifice for our sins and He arose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; John 3:16).
The Bible is the inspired Word of God – a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:10).
Every person has worth as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as their Savior and Lord and obey His will (John 3:16, Mark 16:16).
Those willing to obey Christ should repent of sin, confess their faith in Christ as the Son of God and be baptized into Him for the forgiveness of sins (Romans 10:9; Acts 2:38).
The church is the Body of Christ, is empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved (Ephesians 4:1-16).
Jesus Christ will one day return to take God’s children to be with him forever (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
