Denomination: Christian
Sunday Morning Worship…..11am
We come together, as members of the body of Christ, to praise Almighty God. “God inhabits the praises of His people” (Psalm 22:3). We dig into the Word of God, the Bible, to discover further who we are in Christ, where we are in Christ and what we have in Christ……ultimately to be conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29) by allowing the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity (Matthew 28:19; John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 13:14), to give greater revelation of God’s Word (John 14:17-26; Ephesians 1:17-23).
That revelation, by the Spirit of God, is absolutely necessary for us to learn Who God is, what He has done, is doing and will do. It is also necessary for our faith in the Lord to grow as “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17). We know that faith is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). But it is also the “conviction of the truthfulness of God’s Word, and the reliance upon Christ for salvation” (as defined by the Greek word for faith, “pistis”). “Without faith, we cannot please God” (Hebrews 11:6)…and to that end, we chose to grow in Christ and build our faith. We believe in the ministry and work of the Father, Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all. Amen!” (2 Corinthians 13:14). After receiving Christ as Savior and Lord, we need to be constantly filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18), and allow Him to move in our lives. The Amplified Bible defines Him as our “Comforter, Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby and The Spirit of Truth” (John 14:16, 17). We need the Holy Spirit to help us understand what Christ has done for us through His work on the cross, paying for our sins and opening the way into the blessings of God.
