Denomination: Independent Evangelical
We’re just a tiny part of the worldwide Christian family and would love to think that you might like to be part of the family, too. In fact, the word ‘family’ is very important to us as that’s what we consider ourselves to be ~ a growing family of people who endeavour to love and support each other. A family made up of the whole age range ~ from 0 to 90+!
We’re also an independent, evangelical, local church and each of those adjectives is significant…
‘Independent’ in the sense that we’re not tied into a particular denominational structure or ‘union’ ~ although we are members of the national ‘Evangelical Alliance’ and the local ‘Christians Together in Martock’ group…
‘Evangelical’ in terms of what we believe ~ a summary of which is set out in the ‘What we believe’ section…
‘Local’ inasmuch as we have a real concern for Martock and its environment and are made up, largely, of people who live relatively close by ~ in fact, this church has been seeking to serve the local community for more than a century!
Basically we’re just a bunch of ordinary people who love God and have a desire to serve Him in this particular part of Somerset. We’re all different, but we love one another and long that others should come to know Jesus.
