Denomination: Roman Catholic
Welcome to the new Killannin parish
We live in strange times. In other years I would be planning to accommodate as many people as possible at the Christmas Masses. This year it is the reverse. Only 50 people can attend each Mass in order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions. This is very disappointing. I know how important the Christmas Mass is to you. It is central to our Christmas celebration of the birth of Jesus. I have decided to increase the number of Masses by two so that more people can attend at Christmas. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, St Stephen’s Day and Sunday 29 December (the Feast of the Holy Family) will be regarded as one unit for the purpose of attending one Mass. Places at Mass must be booked: see 'Christmas Arrangements' under Parish Notices below for details.
I send Christmas greetings to everyone who will not be able to join their families for Christmas. Your intentions will be included in the Masses here. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus may He bring you and your family peace and happiness.
I want to thank all the helpers for their support during the year and especially as we prepare for Christmas.
I wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas.
