Denomination: Church of the Nazarene
We are so thankful you've taken a few moments to learn more about our church community. Whether this is the first time you've heard of us or you've been a part of the church for a while, we hope that you learn more about our congregation!
For a long time our congregation had the name of the Church of the Nazarene. Recently, we changed our name from First Church of the Nazarene to CrossPoint Community Church. While we maintain our Church of the Nazarene roots, we are a church open to all those who are seeking God.
The name of CrossPoint Community came from the fact that we're all coming from different places, yet this is the place where our paths cross. We love this community as it is where we not only encounter God, but we encounter each other and our stories are forever changed because of it. The beautiful history of our congregation is our ability to worship together with diverse beliefs and styles of worship. You will have to come and see the dynamic ways that we worship as Christ's Body!
Beliefs
We believe in the Trinity - One God, the Creator of all things, who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human, who became like us to bring about our salvation through life, death on the cross, and the resurrection.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world, bringing us to salvation and guiding us with God's presence.
We believe that the Old and New Testament Scriptures are inspired by God and contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living.
We believe that all humans are sinner in nature and act and all need God's forgiveness and cleansing.
We believe that God is constantly reaching out to us to enable us to turn to God from sin, but God does not force our actions.
We believe that, through God's grace, we are able to repent, turn to God, and be welcomed into the family of God.
We believe that we are able to continually be sanctified and be increasingly filled with God's Spirit.
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ to carry out God's mission through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's supper as a means of grace, where we uniquely experience God's grace, love, and redemption in baptism and Communion (Holy Eucharist).
We believe that God can heal, and we pray for healing. We also believe that God can heal through medical science.
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again, this time in power and glory.
