What we believe
The Bible
Comprised of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and true, authoritative Word of God, revealing all things necessary to salvation, and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
The Lord
One God Creator and Sustainer of all creation, eternally existent in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Savior
Jesus Christ both the Son of God and the Son of Man, fully human and fully divine, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He surrendered the prerogative of His deity and He died on the cross for the sins of the world. He was raised in bodily form from the dead and ascended into heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the Father to make intercession as High Priest and Advocate for all believers.
The Holy Spirit
The very presence of God in the life of the believer. His ministry is to glorify Christ, convince the world of sin and righteousness and judgment, regenerate repentant sinner, indwell, sanctify, empower, guide, and instruct the believer in and for godly living and service. He is the comforter and the One who comes alongside the believer to give the abundant life of peace on earth.
The Fall
Human beings were created in the Image of God, but in the garden fell into sin and were alienated from God. Redemption is only through Jesus Christ. Salvation is by the grace of God, through faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ who died a substitutionary sacrifice once for all for the sins of man. Only through repentance and faith in Christ and regeneration of the Spirit can they obtain salvation.
The Cross
That only through Jesus Christ is there any ground for faith for salvation for all who believe, and those who receive Christ as Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit and become part of the family of God. We believe the redeemed are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. It is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word, which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an excuse for sinful living.
The Sacraments
Water baptism and the Lord's Supper through which God communicates grace to believers.
The Return
In the personal bodily return of Jesus Christ as Lord of Lords and King of Kings over all creation.
The Life
In the bodily resurrection of both the living and the dead; believers will be raised to everlasting joy with their Lord, and unbelievers unto judgment and eternal punishment.
