Denomination: Community Church
At Covenant we don't claim to have everything figured out. What we declare is that we are
serious about learning how to become an Authentic Biblical Community.
Our attention to Authenticity focuses on the aspect of allowing each other to be "real". It also targets the thought of patterning ourselves after Jesus who is the epitome of authenticity. We desire to be like the original and in that manner, thus to be authentic.
Our focus on being Biblical is simply because we believe the Bible to be God's authority for our lives. It is a living, dynamic work from God that truly is universal in its scope and teaching. No other book can describe humanity so accurately and reveal God in such a down to earth, attainable manner.
Our desire for Community is simply a way of acknowledging a basic human desire to belong. We are not trying to create some false fellowship but rather to accept God's creation of community for us. Community is hard work because it involves loving others when we don't alway want to. Through Christ, we are able to achieve this. We are not a club only allowing those who fit our criteria. We are a community where all are welcome and we all have to learn how that works itself in daily life as we walk the Christian faith together.
