Denomination: Baptist
At Church at Affton, we glorify God by being passionate, loving, multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ.
OUR CORE COMMITMENTS
FOUNDATION
The center of all we are as a Church is God’s Word. The Spirit inspired Scriptures contain God’s revelation of himself and his eternal plan. All we do will be unapologetically grounded in Biblical Truth.
// II TIMOTHY 3:16-17, ROMANS 15:4
EXALTATION
We place a high priority on regularly gathering for worship. But worship is more than a just a "Once-a-Week Meeting"—it is a lifestyle. We only really offer God our veneration when we strive after the emulation of the "Jesus-Way-of-Life."
// ROMANS 12:1-2, COLOSSIANS 3:16-17
CONNECTION
Church is a people, not a place; a body, not a building. What defines us is not a scheduled meeting but our connection to God and to one another. We prioritize deep connections with other believers.
// HEBREWS 10:19-25, ACTS 2:42-47
TRANSFORMATION
To be alive is to be in perpetual change. We might not like it, but change is good! As followers of Jesus, we have stepped into the continuous stream of becoming more like Him every day.
// ROMANS 8:29, PHILIPPIANS 1:6
MISSION
God has a mission to redeem for Himself a people. God’s mission has a Church. Because followers of Jesus are “sent ones,” we are committed to being mission-centric in all we do. We long to see the transformation of all things by the hope found in Jesus Christ.
// JOHN 20:21, MATTHEW 28:16-20
REPRODUCTION
As followers of Jesus, we are His disciples. Jesus commissioned His disciples to make disciples. The Church exists to make disciples who make disciples. A New Testament Church raises up new leaders and starts new Churches. We will never be satisfied with anything less than being a reproducing, multiplying Gospel Outpost.
// EPHESIANS 4:11-16, I PETER 2:9-10
