Denomination: Roman Catholic
Christ the King Parish is a multi-ethnic Catholic community located in Kitimat, British Columbia. From our humble beginning in the little 'Joey Shack' and the recreation room at the Alcan site to the basement of the school and the current church building, we have continued to renew our hope in Christ "who brings all things unto good for those who believe."
Our 50 plus years as a parish community has formed us into the welcoming, loving, compassionate and vibrant family that we are.
In July, 1995 the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI's) withdrew from our parish, successfully completing their missionary work that has fostered the tremendous faith growth within the community. We have fond memories of witnessing the humbleness, the gentleness, the faithfulness and especially the spirituality of the Oblates and we are grateful for their generosity and dedication to service.
