Denomination: Assemblies of God
Christ Church has always been a mission church, and we hope and pray that by God’s grace it always will be. Historically, missions brought to mind missionaries serving in far flung countries but today England is just as needy (and perhaps even more needy) of mission minded Christians maintaining a true witness for Jesus. To make progress for our Lord the church has to be missionary minded. We rejoice in greeting visitors to our services quite regularly and our longing to see ordinary people accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is as strong as ever. Since church history shows that the Lord has always moved in marvellous and unique ways each time he works his wonders on earth, we continue to spend time seeking the Lord’s moving and guidance – particularly but not exclusively for our assembly.
It is important that we maintain high moral and spiritual standards. The best way to do this is to spend as much time as possible in reading our Bibles, praying and praising God and being strengthened by the transfusion of His grace to us. We continue to do the Lord’s work and trust him to bless our endeavours. There are many people, both in Swinton and in the surrounding area, who really need the encouragement and blessing that only the Lord can provide. We hope to act as go-betweens and to be channels of his blessing to needy people who are ready to turn to God. If you are at wits-end-corner then Christ Church should be your next port of call. We’ve been very encouraged during the year at the number of new faces who have come into our meetings from far and near.
For the congregation at Christ Church, there are no strangers in Swinton, although there are lots of friends we have not yet met.
