Denomination: The Fellowship
Chomedey Baptist Church began when pastor Clayton S. Wilhem moved from Ontario to St. Martin (now Chomedey), Quebec in 1958 and started a church plant which quickly grew and eventually were able to purchase a property and construct the church building which opened its doors to the community on Sunday, May 14, 1961, with the church plant already having about 35 members. About 160 many people visited the new building during the open house the following day. Since Pastor Wilhem other pastors have worked preaching and teaching God’s word through he years, including, Pastor Marty Wolfe, Ron Holden, Steve Hejnar and most recently Pastor Antonio Liborio.
Since its beginnings CBC has been a place get to know Jesus Christ and God’s word and to fellowship with other believers and reach out to the community of Chomedey.
Today Chomedey Baptist Church is comprised of people from different nationalities, about 24 different countries are represented. Our objective and purpose as we move forward into what God has for us in the future is that many souls be saved and discipled and that they in turn be salt and light in a world going darker. Knowing that the Lord will build His church for the glory of His Name.
In the love of Christ,
Pastor Tony
