We believe that the Bible, both the Old Testament and the New Testament, is the inspired Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and life. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, sent to redeem the world; we love and trust Him as the one who saves us from our sin; and with repentance and joy we embrace Him as Lord of our life.
We are a confessional church, one that adheres to the three standards of faith: the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort.
Our name, "Cephas," means "rock," and it was the name given to Simon, one of Jesus' disciples. Our Lord said to him, "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:18, NIV)
