Denomination: Baptist
The history of Calvary Baptist Church begins March 15, 1960. Eleven charter members originally named this local assembly New Testament Baptist Church As the Lord blessed and attendance grew, property was purchased in 1962 from the estate of Kovac Acres and in 1964 our first auditorium was constructed. The present facilities now stand on these 7 acres which have undergone many structural changes throughout the years.
Our current buildings include an educational facility, auditorium and the latest addition of a Sunday School wing and Family Life Center. In 2005, we remodeled the old auditorium to house a new nursery and toddler rooms as well as a welcome and information center for our guests and members
The church grew under the leadership of Pastor Marshall Bonds who remained pastor for 37 years until his death on February 9, 2004. During this time, the church increased to the present structures and supporting over 100 missionaries in foreign lands and in America.
We are looking to continue and expand the ministries of Calvary Baptist Church. The growth of the local church in spiritual matters is a priority as people come to know Christ and mature in the things of the Lord. It is our goal to provide a well balanced spiritual nourishment for the needs of the soul through sound Biblical teaching pointing people to the Lord with the Gospel. Any accomplishments made are a direct result of the Lord’s working in lives.
As we grow together, may we always keep in mind, “Jesus Christ and him Crucified!”
I Corinthians 2:2 “For I determined not to know anything among you save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.”
