Denomination: Mennonite Brethren
Our church was founded in September 1990, when fifty brothers and sisters from Pacific Grace Mennonite Brethren responded to God’s calling to establish a sister church in North Burnaby. They rented a small building on Ellesmere Avenue and began ministering to Chinese immigrants in the neighbourhood. The congregation grew quickly. In 1991, our church was registered as a member of the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.
The English Ministry was added to our church in 1998 in response to a growing number of English-speaking congregation members. Our English and Chinese Ministries work together in unity to share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
Our mission is to live out God’s Great Commandment and Great Commission: to love God and our neighbours, and make disciples of Jesus Christ. We carry out this mission in four ways:
Outreach
We endeavour to share the good news of Jesus Christ to those we meet.
Discipleship
We endeavour to build up the spiritual lives of believers through Sunday School, worship, fellowship, and discipleship training.
Mutual Support
We endeavour to care for those in need through fellowship.
Children’s Education
We endeavour to help children develop the right attitude towards life and Jesus Christ.
Our Values
Christ as Center
We value the spiritual vitality that comes from a growing relationship with Christ based on the Bible.
People
We value relational vitality through developing healthy relationships and empowering people through unity in Christ.
Outreach
We value bold outreach and faithful service through organized teamwork and innovative creativity.
