We are a congregation related to both the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Canada.
Our mission is to let our diversities proclaim the love of God in Jesus the Christ, to nurture and serve the neighbour in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Worship Services are held every Sunday morning at 10:30 am. We would be happy for you to come visit us!
Sunday School is offered for our youngest visitors. Children are encouraged to share a minute on the Flying Carpet with Rev. Cuthbert during the worship service. Afterwards, the children are dismissed to Sunday School, where the Learning Team volunteers lead them in a Bible study, songs, and games!
The Building
Our architect designed our current building in the shape of a ship - an ancient symbol for the Church. Our present space replaces a Gothic church destroyed by fire in 1968. It is a multi-purpose structure, which while being adaptable for many functions, nevertheless retains the aesthetic appeal and atmosphere suitable for a place which expresses our encounter with God through worship. We believe that worship is the highest human endeavour. From worship follows our service and our fellowship.
The Communion Table
Occupying the centre of the Chancel is an unusual shape, to fit the open centre of our church. It is made of dark oak and is the work of a local Mennonite company.
The Baptismal Font and Baptistry (situated at the junction of the Chapel and Nave areas)
The fountain, from which infants are baptized, runs constantly to remind us of our own baptismal vows. The baptistry also allows for full immersion baptisms, as was the practice in New Testament times.
