What We Believe

Salvation

There are so many discourses about bible salvation today but let us remind ourselves of what Jesus said.

Jesus stated in John 3:3-7 KJVS,

[3] “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

[4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Jesus also stated in Luke 24:47,

”.. that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” This is self evident that what is stated back then is still required today.

This is more than just accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour. It’s about being [4]“buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”(Romans 6:4 KJV)

This is what Victory In Praise believes and teaches. I invite you to build your Christian life upon the truths of God’s word.

Further study on the topic of bible salvation (Soteriology) reveals that:

On the day of Pentecost, 3000 were saved ( Acts 2:37-47)
Samaritan received the word of salvation ( Acts 8:5-12, 30-40)
The Gentiles received the word of salvation ( Acts 10:44-48)
John’s disciples received the word of truth ( Acts 19:1-6)

Holiness

God spoke unto a delivered Israel saying, “ For I am the Lord that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.”
Lev. 11:45 KJV

His further instructions to Israel were, “ And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;”
Leviticus 10:10 KJVS

The message of Holiness is not antiquated, it is relevant and modern. The apostle Peter teaches us not to fashion ourselves according to our former desires but to be holy like God is holy.

13. Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

14. As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

15. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

16. Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. As servants and children of God, our utmost desire is to please our master and father, Jesus Christ our Lord!
1 Peter 1:13-16 KJVS

Separation

We believe that children of God should live separate lives from that of the world. The standard that we measure up and align our lives to is the unadulterated word of God. Separation does not in any way propagate that we are better than others. It’s obedience to God’s word that teaches us to separate ourselves from the pleasures of sin that brought destruction to us and to seek to do the works of righteousness.

14. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them ; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you,

18. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

We believe that mankind should always see a distinct difference between the true christians and non christians. Between the way people of the world live and conduct themselves from the way people of God live and conduct themselves. When you have an encounter with God, it changes the way you view life.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 KJVS
