Denomination: Foursquare Church
Turning Point Church started in a park on Easter 2010, as an offshoot of Arms of Love Fellowship in Rio Rancho. The vision for that young church was to help our community grow and blossom through giving, service and love. Later that year, Turning Point rejoined Arms of Love to combine both churches under the name Turning Point Church. In the fall of 2011, we moved out of our previous church building in Tarpon Plaza, and started meeting temporarily in the Elks Lodge near Intel. That November, Estevan “Stev” Trujillo was installed as our Lead Pastor. By the spring of 2012, we had found our new building in the heart of Rio Rancho, at NM 528 and Sundt Road, and construction was begun. After a lot of time and unexpected expense, we were finally able to press through and finish construction by Easter 2014.
Since the opening of our new church building in 2014, we have already started making an impact in our community. We have many families with young children who have been drawn to the church. In fact, most of them have children in elementary school or younger! Because of that, we have put a lot of time and effort into developing our children’s ministry, teaching kids about God and helping them grow. We know that family isn’t just about children, so we provide great teaching and services related to building stronger relationships and households.
Our church is going to continue to grow in our community. As our children become teenagers, we will give them a place to grow as individuals and to teach them how to live a Christian life. We’re going to equip households to have healthy, stable relationships, and experience the joy of service and fellowship. We are also going to continue to expand our ministry to children through more integration with their parents’ spiritual growth and by more and more engaging content.
We are a church that was started with a vision of service and love for our community, Rio Rancho, NM. That focus and vision will be how we measure success, and how we make future plans. We also know that helping others is often the best way to grow as a Christian; so we will keep our eyes and hearts open for ways we can serve one another. Above all, we pray that we grow into the people that God has called us to be, for our families and for this community.
Will you join us and see how you can grow…how you can be served by serving others?
