St Peter welcomes Christians and those who seek to understand Christianity in the Monkwearmouth area. Our aim is to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-enhancing Christian journey.
St Peter at Monkwearmouth, Tyne and Wear is a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God. Our emphasis is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and his followers.
The vision of St Peter is to make an impact for God, here in Monkwearmouth, Tyne and Wear by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.

Celtic Prayer
A time of still and contemplative prayer based on the Northumbria Community’s Celtic Daily Prayer. It will draw inspiration from the early Christian heritage of the North East as well as contemporary sources. The prayer will be about 30 minutes and afterwards there will the opportunity to explore themes from the prayer whilst enjoying some light tasty refreshments and a cuppa.

Come and join members of the clergy team for a short service of Morning Prayer - the best way to start the day!
Every Thursday at 9:30 AM for ½ hour
Taize Prayer
Come & join us for a reflective Taize service in the historic setting of St. Peter's, where people have praised & worshipped for centuries. Whether you are new to Taize, have been a Christian for years or are still searching you are most welcome to join us.
