St Nicolas welcomes Christians and those who seek to understand Christianity in the Shoreham-by-Sea area. Our aim is to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-enhancing Christian journey.
St Nicolas at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex is a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God. Our emphasis is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and his followers.
The vision of St Nicolas is to make an impact for God, here in Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.

Ride & Stride/Heritage Open Day
The Ride and Stride event, where cyclists are sponsored to visit as many churches as possible, will be combined with a Heritage Open Day. Guided tours of the church will be offered, and there will be a rolling slideshow. Refreshments will be available. The event is free but donations to St Nicolas' Fabric Fund would be appreciated.

A Princess in Shoreham
Advance Notice
September 2016 will be the 95th anniversary of the death of Lydia Yavorska, Princess Bariatinsky, who rests in St Nicolas' churchyard. To mark the anniversary there will be a special evensong on Sunday 4th September and following the English Heritage Open Day on 10th September there will be a presentation in the church about her dramatic life, coupled with the launch of a new book "Princess of Dreams".
Proceeds from the book will be used to maintain the grave and to support the Friends of St Nicolas who look after our beautiful ancient church. For more details about the book see the weblink.
