St. Michael's Episcopal Church
Episcopal Church
St. Michael's was established as a mission a little over 50 years ago, in order to serve as a witness of the love of Jesus Christ by serving as a place of worship and outreach for the people in Box Elder County and surrounding areas. Though the congregation is small, there are numerous ministries and outreach programs connected to St. Michael's. St. Micheal's is a founder of important community programs such as, the Box Elder Community Food Pantry, the New Hope Crisis Center, and The Community Soup Kitchen. Parish members continue to play important roles in these ministries. These programs serve hundreds of individuals and families each month, providing food for the needy, safety to vicitms of domestic violence, and meals to the hungry and lonely.
St. Michaels has three Adult Study Programs for deepening understanding of scripture, a lively Children's Sunday School, and a Youth Program combining religious study, community service and fun activities. St. Michael's coordinates each summer, with other denominations in the area, to create a Community Bible School that serves approximately 200 children.
Bible Study and Service offering at St. Mark's Terrace in Brigham City each Minday offers residents of this facility a change to pray and fellowship with parish members. Members of the parish assist with numerous outreach programs througout the area as well. The parish is also active in the Box Elder Interfaith Association, working to find common ground with all the people of the area. All of these programs help us proclaim Jesus as our Redeemer and Master.
There are "in-church" ministries at St. Michael's as well. Once-a-month Craft Days, Lay Eucharistic Ministry, Lay Eucharistic Visitors. and Altar Guild are some of them. The church holds numerous social activities throughout the year - including a Community Chicken Dinner. The proceeds from the dinner are donated to the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund to assist those in need.
In all these ways, St. Michael's lives into its Mission Statement, "Feeding Souls, One Meal at a Time." Everyone, no matter where they may be in their journey with Christ, is always welcome at St. Michael's.
