St Lawrence welcomes Christians and those who seek to understand Christianity in the Scunthorpe area. Our aim is to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-enhancing Christian journey.
St Lawrence at Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire is a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God. Our emphasis is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and his followers.
The vision of St Lawrence is to make an impact for God, here in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.
Service Times
Sunday
Eucharist
A said service for those who want or need an early start, or prefer a quieter service.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ½ hour
Parish Eucharist
A sung service, with choir and hymns. Children's Church (Sunday School) takes place during part of the service - we begin in church together, then the children and their leaders go to the parish hall and return for communion.
On the third Sunday of the month we have a non-Eucharistic service, and a Eucharist in the evening instead.
There is sometimes variation on the fifth Sunday of the month if we have a united service with the North Scunthorpe Group of churches.
Every second fourth fifth and last Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
All Age Eucharist
A sung service with choir and hymns, for people of all ages.
Every first Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour
Morning Worship
A service suitable for people of all ages and especially those new to worship. It includes hymns, songs, readings, sketches and other activities all relating to the theme of the day.
Every third Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour
Evening Worship
This is usually Evening Prayer, a quieter service of traditional language from the Book of Common Prayer with hymns, readings, prayers and a sermon. On the third Sunday our evening worship takes the form of a simple celebration of the Eucharist (contemporary language).
There is sometimes variation on the fifth Sunday of the month if we have a united service with the North Scunthorpe Group of churches. Please check the Church website or the noticeboard outside the Parish Office for details.
