St. Joseph/Bread of Life Community
Roman Catholic
St. Joseph Church - Bread of Life Community is a product of two Church communities that came were joined together on July 1, 2002. St. Joseph Church was founded on June 2, 1867 by German immigrants, and the Bread of Life Community was founded on January 10, 1991 by a group of Catholic Charismatics who wanted to be able to worship and exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the Catholic Church. These 15 years we have continued to grow into a very welcoming community with vibrant liturgies and Biblical preaching.
We have a beautiful 150 year old Parish community that continues to grow and reaches out to the Erie community. We are constantly striving towards the future.
We have a full-time youth minister and Life Teen Program for middle school and high school age youth and weekly 8:00 PM Life Teen/Mercy Mass followed by confessions. Our youth are so important to us and we have a great religious education program for all our youth.
Our Community reaches out to the poor through food pantry, clothing store, winter emergency shelter. We seek to be fulltime disciples of Jesus Christ and strive to follow Him not just on Sunday's but in our daily lives.
We are the only church in the Diocese of Erie that has Perpetual Adoration. That means we pray in front of Jesus in His Blessed Sacrament - 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year! You can come and pray with us anytime!
Our Pastor, Fr. Larry Richards, is an internationally known speaker and best-selling author. He is the founder of "The Reason for Our Hope Foundation", The DME Retreat program, the "22:32 Men's Conference " and the "1:38 Women's conference", and can be heard weekly on various radio programs through the country.
Even with all this we lack something without YOU and your presence in our parish!
We want YOU to know that you are most welcome in our parish community and invite you to join us at our 11:00 am Sunday Mass. Please come!
