St John the Baptist welcomes Christians and those who seek to understand Christianity in the Old Sodbury area. Our aim is to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-enhancing Christian journey.
St John the Baptist at Old Sodbury, South Gloucestershire is a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God. Our emphasis is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and his followers.
The vision of St John the Baptist is to make an impact for God, here in Old Sodbury, South Gloucestershire by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.

Benefice Service
If there is a 5th Sunday in the month we hold a special Benefice Service where we meet in one of the four churches that make up the Sodbury Vale benefice. The venue is advertised on our website www.sodburyvalechurches@wordpress.com
Every fifth Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour
Family Communion
This is an informal communion service using modern language. Coffee will be served before the service at 10.45am.
Every first Sunday at 11:15 AM for 50 minutes
St. John's Praise
This is an informal, all age service which is layled. Coffee is served after the service.
Every second Sunday at 11:15 AM for ¾ hour
Parish Communion
This is a formal traditional service using the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
Every third Sunday at 11:15 AM for 1 hour
Morning Praise
This is a non-communion service of the word with largely traditional hymns and is sometimes lay led.
Every fourth Sunday at 11:15 AM for 1 hour
Wednesday
Sunflowers Toddler Group
Sunflowers Toddler group is a joint church and school venture for babies, toddlers and their parents/carers. It is held in the Old Sodbury School hall every Wednesday during term time from 10:00 to 11:30am. We are a small friendly group providing a warm welcome to all.
