St John’s Shaughnessy Anglican Church
Anglican Church
St. John’s Shaughnessy has become known for its commitment to beautiful and profound worship. It is a style of liturgy that aspires to engage all of the senses, with sermons that connect with your life, music that draws you closer, prayers that touch your soul and a community that affirms the dignity of every human being. We aim to connect your growing and curious faith with the mystery of a loving God. You can come as you are, some will be wearing jeans, some more dressed up. There will be children, youth, adults and elders all together as we offer our gratitude and wonder for this gift of life. We are a group with a whole array of backgrounds and we fully use the treasures of the Anglican Church of Canada’s Prayer Books and Hymn Books in an Anglo-Catholic liturgy.
When you come and join us, you will be warmly welcomed. You will be offered a bulletin, which will have all of the material needed for our worship services. You will be invited to join in the worship service at the level you are most comfortable. You are very welcome to join us for hospitality hour following the 10:00 AM service where you will have opportunity to ask questions about any aspect of our worship or parish life. You will be encouraged to fill in a Connection Card in the entranceway of the church as it takes at least three visits to fully connect with a new parish family.
