St John Downshire Hill welcomes Christians and those who seek to understand Christianity in the Hampstead area. Our aim is to make contact with and encourage others to join us in our life-enhancing Christian journey.
St John Downshire Hill at Hampstead, London is a friendly Christian community where we welcome others to join us in our worship and service to God. Our emphasis is on learning and understanding the Bible and following the example of Jesus and his followers.
The vision of St John Downshire Hill is to make an impact for God, here in Hampstead, London by helping people understand the enriching messages of eternal hope given to us by Jesus Christ through His words and deeds. Come just as you are - we'd love to get to know you better.
Service Times
Sunday
Sunday morning service
Join us for our family-friendly Sunday morning service as we meet together as a group of God's people to hear the Bible read and preached, to sing hymns and songs and to pray together. There is a talk particularly for children towards the start of the service, and following this the children are invited to join one of the kids' clubs. Refreshments are served from 10:15 and again following the service.
Sunday at 10:30 AM for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Sunday evening service
Our Sunday evening service is slightly less formal and slightly more contemporary than our morning service. We meet together to hear God's word read and preached, to sing songs and hymns and to pray together. There are no separate children's activities at this service. A light meal is available at 18:00, providing the opportunity to meet others, and is followed by the start of the service. Refreshments are also provided afterwards.
During the summer months we run a barbecue before this service. Please check our website for details of the changes during the months of July and August.
