Welcome to South Sheffield Evangelical Church
The church was formed in 1981 by a group of Christians who believe in the importance of proclaiming the Good News about Jesus Christ.
We are an F.I.E.C. affiliated Independent Church.
You are welcome to come to any of the weekly services. Whatever your age, background or nationality, we will be very pleased to see you.
Our service times are as follows:
Sunday morning our worship time begins at 10.45 preceeded by a time of informal fellowship at 10.15 when tea/coffee and biscuits are served.
The service will include hymns from Mission Praise, a time of prayer, bible reading and a message lasting around 30 minutes, with the aim of finishing at 12 mid day. There will normally be a childrens talk as part of the service, after which the children go out into a Sunday school class or crèche.
Our morning congregation is usually around 30 people.
Sunday evening our worship time begins at 6.30, and follows the same pattern as the morning service but without a childrens talk and Sunday school.
A mid week meeting is held on a Wednesday evening in the church lounge starting at 8pm and normally takes the form of a prayer meeting or bible study. Some weeks during the summer, guest speakers are invited to come and speak on various topics on a more informal basis with refreshments being served.
Our building is all on one level and so is easily accessible for wheelchair users. We can easily and quickly re-arrange the chairs in the worship area to accommodate wheelchairs. Their use in any other rooms poses no problem. We have a toilet for the disabled and facilities for baby changing.
There is a loop system in the worship area for hearing aid users and people with guide dogs or support dogs are welcome.
