Emmaus Lutheran Church
Lutheran Church
“We preach Christ crucified.” 1 Corinthians 1:23
As a member of the Missouri Synod, Emmaus is a “confessional Lutheran” congregation. This means that we receive the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments as the written Word of God and the normative source of all Christian doctrine. We also acknowledge the three ecumenical creeds (Apostles’, Nicene and Athanasian) and the Book of Concord of 1580 to be true expositions of the Scriptures, and we affirm their teachings without qualification.
Service Times
SUNDAY SCHEDULE
The Divine Service at 10:30 A.M.
SAFETY PROTOCOLS FOR ATTENDING WORSHIP
If you are feeling unwell or have had a fever within the past 48 hours, you should not attend worship.
The gates and doors are opened at 10:00 A.M., and the building is locked promptly at 10:30 when the service begins. Please understand that because of safety concerns, we cannot unlock the doors to admit latecomers.
We do not require proof of vaccination for attendance at worship. All are welcome. Please be sure to wear a mask that covers both your mouth and your nose, and maintain 6 feet of social distance from other worshipers.
Bulletins for the current Sunday, along with copies of Portals of Prayer, Strength for the Day and seasonal devotions, are available in the narthex.
There is a bottle of hand sanitizer on the welcome table in the narthex, as well as a supply of masks.
To ensure adequate ventilation, the windows are open at all services.
Holy Communion is administered by intinction at the front of the chancel. Worshipers seated on the pulpit side of the nave commune first, followed by those seated on the lectern side. Communicants come forward in single file down the center aisle, receive the Blessed Sacrament, and return to their seats by the side aisles.
