Church of the Beloved

Church of the Beloved, an emerging Episcopal congregation begun in 2001, with 300 in attendance at Christmas Eve 2007, was closed by the Diocese of North Carolina in November 2008. A congregation with an average age of 32 years and 40% of its worshiping population under the age of 10, the church was not able to financially sustain herself when the economy entered the "Great Recession." The website remains active for those who desire to learn how a church in the new millenium functioned.
