Allison Bible Church
IFCA International
Allison Bible Church is a non-denominational church associated with the IFCA International, a fellowship of independent churches.
We are a Bible centered church, believing the Scriptures are the source of truth for all matters of life and godliness. Our sermons and lessons are based on the teachings of Scripture and we encourage the reading and study of God’s Word.
We are a family oriented church. We recognize the design of God in establishing the family in His creation of the heavens and earth. We strive to follow the biblical instruction that parents teach their children the Word of God.
We desire to carry out Jesus’ teaching that His followers would share the message of the gospel so that all may personally know the joy of salvation in Jesus Christ. We also support missionaries that carry this same message to others that we cannot personally reach.
Though we enjoy our gatherings, our desire is not to be a social club, but a group of Jesus’ disciples helping each other to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior.
What We Believe
The Bible is the inspired and preserved Word of God. It is without error and teaches all we need for life and godliness.
God exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, yet He is one God.
Jesus Christ as the Son of God is God Himself, and added full humanity to Himself through being born of the virgin Mary. Having lived a life without sin, He died on the cross as our substitute, paying the price of death for our sins.
Salvation is by God’s grace through faith, received as a gift (Ephesians 2:8-9). That means that we cannot be saved from the penalty of sin by doing good works or trying to keep the Ten Commandments. We must exercise faith in Christ, believing His work on the cross was fully
enough to pay for our sin. God’s Word teaches that having repented of sin and receiving the gift of salvation, we can have absolute assurance of eternal life in heaven (I John 5:13).
Baptism is a command of Jesus Christ and the Apostles (Matthew 28:10; Acts 10:48). Every instance of baptism in the Bible is after a person has believed the gospel, so we only baptize those who have expressed their faith in Jesus’ death for salvation.
Communion or the Lord’s Table is also a command of Scripture. The Bible teaches that the purpose of eating bread and drinking the cup is to remember what Jesus has completely accomplished on the cross of Calvary. A person does not receive forgiveness of sin by taking
communion, but rather takes communion because he has received the forgiveness of sin.
